Using mainly vibrant, dreamy blues and
related tones I paint a collection of seascapes of Cork using
oils]. A part-time lecturer, my oil paintings are a reflection of
my love of the sea following a childhood of summers spent in
Ballycotton. Inspired by Japanese culture having lived there for
five years, I also use scant scatterings of gold leaf in my
paintings. This use of gold in Japanese art represents the bright
rays of light that illuminate our world. My paintings evoke a
simplicity which juxtaposes these two influences.
